Snacks!! We all eat them. Healthy snacks are an important part of healthy nutrition. Healthy snacks often take more prep work than grabbing a bag of chips or a candy bar. So today let’s look at some simple 2 or 3 ingredient snacks that are healthier than a candy bar and tastier than a bag of chips!!
First up is a super simple one. Grab a Medjool date and put an almond or any other nut inside it. You can use a nut butter as well!! It is sweet like a candy bar!! Be sure to get Medjool dates because they are softer and sweeter. Also make sure it still has the pit. Pitted dates dry out and aren’t as yummy.
Next is another date snack. These are like cookie dough balls!! Grab some dates (about a cup) and about 1 1/2 Tbsp coconut butter (you can add salt if you want, but just a tiny bit). Mix them in a food processor or blender and roll them into balls!! You can always shredded coconut or chocolate chips if you want a little extra!!
And how about one more date recipe?? Yes!! Ok, Medjool dates (because they are the best) and oats!! Put dates in a food processor and process til they are about the consistency of jam (you may need to add a bit of water). Then add your oats and process til thoroughly combined. Press into a glass baking dish til they are about 1/2 inch thick. Chill. Pull them out once they are set and cut them into bars!! Date and oat energy bars!!
Oooh this is a yummy one!! 1 cup greek yogurt, honey to taste, and 3 Tbsp peanut butter!! It is a tasty dip for apples (or just scoop it with your finger…)! You could use a vanilla greek yogurt and peanut butter and skip the honey step if you want.
This one is super simple. Take a banana and spread a little peanut butter on it. And done!! A tasty super simple snack!
