Apple cider vinegar is probably one of the most powerful health remedies out there. My grandma would always tells us as kids that “it’ll cure what ails ya”. And it really did. It has been a staple in my home since I was a kid and so I thought I would share the amazing health benefits with all of you!!
It does have quite a distinct taste, but if you can get past that (or find ways to hide it like in water and honey) you can help your body heal and be healthy. Even just a tablespoon a day helps with allergies!! Here are some of the other benefits of apple cider vinegar!
Apple cider vinegar helps with heartburn and acid reflux. Acid reflux is usually from having too little acid in your stomach. The antibiotic properties of apple cider vinegar help to improve this. Apple cider vinegar also helps with healthy cholesterol levels!
If you have a goal to lose some weight while getting healthier apple cider vinegar can even help with that!! It acts as an appetite suppressant while increasing your metabolism. It also helps with water retention. Apple cider vinegar also blocks some starch during digestion which keeps blood sugars down.
It is a powerful antioxidant!! Apple cider vinegar also helps with the absorption of necessary minerals. Adding some apple cider vinegar to a salad dressing will help you absorb more goodness from your greens!!
Apple cider vinegar is good for hiccups and whitens teeth. It is good for tummy troubles too. It soothes a sore throat (I use it for that often) and boosts energy.
Apple cider vinegar isn’t just good internally, it can be used externally as well. It is good for cleaning, using in your hair to help with dandruff, and on your skin (regulates the ph balance)!!
You can’t get just any apple cider vinegar though. It needs to be raw organic unfiltered (so look for the yumminess settled at the bottom of the jar (shake it up good before pouring)! And make sure it has “the mother”. I usually just drink a tablespoon or two on its own, but I wouldn’t recommend that. I would suggest mixing a tablespoon or two with water and drinking that way. For a soothing drink if you are feeling sick add apple cider vinegar to warm water and add honey. That was a staple in my house growing up. We always knew when mom or dad was getting sick because they would have their jar of their vinegar drink.
So go out and find yourself some apple cider vinegar. Make it a regular part of your daily intake and enjoy the benefits it brings to you!!
