I could have sworn I did a post totally dedicated to grateful journals…turns out I haven’t. I don’t know how I left out one of the most important keys to success in Hotmess!!

We have talked about how important it is to say our I am statements during (and after) each workout, but another important thing is our grateful journal. It is a must!! A grateful journal transforms us faster than any amount of squats ever could. Grateful journals are what help us release the weight on the inside.

It is human nature to always be wanting more, wanting something we don’t have. We spend countless hours working for things that may or may not bring us happiness. And what if we work hard and think we know what will bring us happiness and then we get it and find out we are just as unhappy as we were before? Or what if you think you will only be happy when you lose that last 10 lbs and then those pounds are gone and you still can’t look in the mirror and be content with what you see? Sadly that is the position many people are in right now.

A grateful journal is about spending time each day pondering and being grateful. During that time of gratitude you begin to see that you are finding happiness in the many blessings you already have. You still have a drive to work hard and achieve, but you are already happy where you are and as each success is attained your level of gratitude and happiness only rises.

What if you woke up today with only the things you were grateful for yesterday…

Which sounds better? Being a slave to that elusive happiness that you think can only be achieved by getting more or finding the happiness through gratitude for the blessings you already have?

In Hotmess we strive to be grateful for the bodies we have been blessed with. Each body, no matter the shape or size, is amazing and capable of so much. Finding that gratitude for the body we have opens the way to happiness, confidence, peace, acceptance, and contentment like you would not believe. I have seen it many times. Women come in looking to release some weight. They fully commit to the Hotmess process and that includes a grateful journal. The session ends and they haven’t lost a pound, but they are happier than ever and more at peace than they have ever been. It works!! It really does!!

Get a grateful journal and fill it up with anything and everything you are grateful for then watch the change happen!! And if you miss a day or two, that’s fine. Just start again!!
