I don’t know about you, but I am not perfect. Every day is a struggle to do what I know I need to do. We talk about a lot things here at Hotmess. Things like writing in a grateful journal, loving our bodies, sharing our talents, standing up straight, finding things that motivate us, getting rid of food guilt, and so many other things. The truth is none of these things are easy. It all takes work. It all takes a dedication to yourself to make sure they happen. One thing builds upon the next. When we find things we are grateful for it is easier to find motivation to workout which then helps us in the fight to love our bodies. Even if we have been at it for years, it is still hard.
The key word today is striving!! Striving to me means that we are working hard to be the best version of ourselves. We are focused and doing our best. We aren’t perfect, and we aren’t trying to be. We understand that perfection is unrealistic and we accept our flaws. Striving to find the balance in our lives. Striving to create. Striving to be better. Focusing on our own progress and celebrating all the victories. Striving to overcome setbacks and starting again with more commitment and passion.
Strive for progress, not perfection. We get so caught up in where we think we should be. We see where others are and forget where they started.
One definition of strive is to struggle or fight vigorously. Are you ready to fight vigorously for you? Are you ready to go to battle and struggle to uncover the beauty and strength that has always been there? It really is a fight. We have to be willing to fight for ourselves. If we don’t who else will?
Strive to be better, to do better each day. Make a commitment to yourself to strive for excellence each and every day. Strive to overcome the setbacks (because they will happen). Don’t let a day or two off track derail everything you are striving for. You are too worth it to give up!!
