When was the last time you criticized your body? Was it this morning as you got dressed? Did you mutter something about it not being the right size or shape? Did you wish it had fewer wrinkles or could perform a certain task differently? Or did you just look in the mirror and feel nothing but disgust? Chances are, whether you meant to or not, you had a moment of negativity. It happens to the best of us. No one is perfect and we all struggle.

Now think…when was the last time you thanked your body? Was it this morning when you got dressed? Did you pull on a pair of pants and think how grateful you are that you have legs and a booty to put in those pants? Did you notice your wrinkles and smile thinking about all the smiles and laughter your life has been filled with? Hopefully you looked in the mirror and were able to see the perfection shining through the imperfections.

“I finally realized that being grateful for my body was key to giving more love to myself”
-Oprah Winfrey

So often we get caught up in our “flaws” that we forget to recognize just how much we have to be thankful for. There are many that have endured many physical hardships and find a way to stay grateful. No one is perfect. We are all striving for something. Along the path our body needs to know we are grateful and that we see past those imperfections. We need to take a break from the criticisms and pause to give thanks to and for our bodies because they are truly amazing!!

So the challenge this week is every time you pass a mirror (especially a full length) mirror pause and tell your body thank you! Purposely look and find something in particular to be grateful for!! You got this!!
